Parboiling Process
This process is based on the hydrothermal treatment of rice while it is still within its husk.
Water and heat dissolve the vitamins and mineral salts, which are in the husk and rice germ. These nutrients remain in suspension in the water, which is free of any chemical agents, and migrate to the inside of the rice grain by absorption. Next the rice is subjected to high temperature with which the grain starch gelatinizes and fixes the nutrients. During the next stages the rice goes into a drier and from there to husking, polishing and selection.
